I’m a documentary video editor based in the San Francisco Bay Area. I specialize in social issue documentaries and especially like to be the one to help bring a project to completion for a festival screening or broadcast. I have a classic editing style that in general doesn’t draw attention to itself, except (perhaps) in moments of musical montage. I have an experimental bent at heart, and love the documentaries The Emperor’s Naked Army Marches On, Sans Soleil, and The Act of Killing. My editing work has been shown on the PBS series Independent Lens and at SXSW, Tribeca, Los Angeles Film Festival, DOC-NYC, and ZIFF. I edit on Premiere Pro CC, Final Cut Pro X, and Final Cut Pro 7. If you have a project in the works let’s talk!

“Corey Ohama is both a talented editor and a wonderful person to work with. She brings skill, creativity, and good judgment to a team and she is open minded, purposeful and committed. Her work and her storylining was behind the successful development of an award-winning documentary, and I know we could not have done it without her. I would recommend Corey to anyone looking for a video editor!”
